René Chiasson has been General Manager of Group 83 ppm since the beginning of August, 2015. He was previously GM of the Caraquet Coop for almost 10 years, where his overall career totalled more than 30 years. In 2012 the Coop reached record annual sales of almost $50 million under René’s management, at which time he led more than 150 employees.

René studied business administration at the Université de Moncton and the New Brunswick Community College (Bathurst campus). He lives in Bas-Caraquet with his wife Monique, with whom he has two adult sons.

For several years now René has been involved in farming; he is a major blueberry producer, and also offers advice to some local farmers. In 2014, he launched Confiserie Maritime Confectionery inc., a distribution company which has been recognised for its fuel gift cards for young athletes and sick children.
Michelle Sonier is Director of Logistics and Planning for Group 83 ppm. She was recently promoted to this position at the Village Blanchard plant, where she has been pursuing a 15-year career in the water business.

Michelle was assistant to the previous general manager for eight years, where her responsibilities included accounting and customer service functions. She also spent several years working in the bottling plant.

With a degree in Office Technology and Management from Multihexa College in Tracadie, Michelle previously worked with the Sobeys Group, both in Tracadie and in the province of Quebec. She was a training instructor with the food giant.

Mother of three children and grandmother of one, Michelle loves nature and regularly goes on camping outings with her partner Kevin. In winter, she enjoys travelling across the snowmobile trails of northern New Brunswick.

Recently, eight of our employees were photographed as they were proudly displaying JANO, our new brand name. They are working at the Village Blanchard plant, near Caraquet.
